Accommodation

Accommodation in tents and camper vans is possible from Friday (after 18:00) to Sunday.

Price: 5€/tent/night or 10€/camper van/night

appx. 15-20min prior to your arrival on Friday you must call Katarina Kovacova (+421 903 928 195), so that she lets you into the camping ground

In case you don’t find your payment status up-to-date in ORIS, please have your payment confirmation ready. This will allow for faster on-site registration.

Late entries on-site will be accepted according to organizer’s capacities.

On both days, the route from event centre to start is marked with blue & white ribbons.

WARNING: The way to start uses a busy road. Be careful and follow traffic rules.

Warming up is allowed in town streets only. It is strictly forbidden to enter the forest or vineyards.

Winners of categories in bold will be awarded “Slovak Champion in MTBO 2018”.

For the “Slovak Champion” title to be awarded in a given class, there must be at least three competitors starting in that class.

Maps will be collected in finish until the start of last competitor.

Punching System

Electronic SportIdent - compatible with SI cards 5-11 and SIAC. AIR+ mode will not be active.

Competitors must Clear and Check their SI card just before start. The Finish unit must be punched on the finish line.

In case of malfunction of the electronic system, competitors must use the punching tongs attached to the control to punch into the reserved fields printed on map. A referee in the finish must be informed about this.

Borrowed SI cards must be returned to organizer immediately after SI read out.

Bib Numbers

All competitors (except for classes Open Short and Open Long) will be provided bib numbers during registration. The bib number must be readable, attached to the front of your bike.

Bib numbers will be collected in finish on Sunday. Please return unused bib numbers in the event office. We charge 4€ for a lost bib number.

Bike Inspection

For competitors in classes MW11, M14, W14, M17 and W17 the organizer will inspect the technical condition of their bicycle before start.

All competitors must wear a bike helmet during the race - no exceptions! Any competitor without a bike helmet will not be allowed to start.

Minimum allowed tire thickness is 1.5’’.

Special map symbols

It is strictly prohibited to access (on bike or foot) off road vineyard areas! The only exception are stripes and areas painted with dark orange colour (map symbol 839 “Rideable Area”), where access is allowed.

Also forbidden is access (on bike or foot) to restricted areas. This includes accessing paths inside restricted areas!

In case of some single tracks, there may be one-way routes marked in the map. The allowed riding direction is marked by arrows.

Middle Course (Saturday)

The course passes through a town area. Be careful and follow all traffic rules.

Class M21E will have a “knot” control, i.e. one control will be visited twice.

Free Order (Sunday)

First and last control are given

the first control after start is given (connected by line with start) and competitors must visit it first
afterwards, all other controls - except for the final one - must be collected in any order
the final control (connected by line with finish) must be visited just before finish

Classes MW11, M14, W14, OpenShort and OpenLong are not having free order

The finish closes when the last starting competitor’s time limit elapses.

Results

Intermediate results will be published in event centre. Final results will be made available on event website mtbo.vba.sk/2018 as well as in ORIS.

Prize Giving Ceremony

After the race - on Saturday at appx. 18:00, on Sunday at appx. 14:00

Protests

Can be submitted in written form into the hands of main referee with a deposit of 10€ no later than 1 hour after closing the Finish. The main referee then establishes a Jury consisting of three persons and delegates the handling of the protest onto the Jury. The verdict of Jury is final.

Refreshments

Energy drink in the finish.

In event centre there will be food stands selling a variety of drinks & food.

WC, Changing Rooms, Showers

Drinking water in event centre. At the bike washing spot, water is not drinkable!

In event centre there will be an ambulance car ready.

Bike Washing

On the upper football pitch according to the map below.

Kindergarden

On the upper football pitch.

Open on Saturday 12:30 - 16:00 and on Sunday 9:30 - 14:00. We kindly ask you to pick up your children immediately after finishing the race.

Bike Depository

On the small football pitch (see map below).

Bikes can be deposited on Saturday between 17:00 - 18:00 and picked up on Sunday 8:00 - 9:00.

Warnings

Any violation of rules, especially riding off track (except dark orange areas) will result in disqualification!
Beware of mosquitos! We recommend you use a mosquito repellent.
Ride safe! Safety of yours as well as of others is more important than winning.
All competitors are competing in a voluntary manner and on their own risk. The organizer is not responsible for any damage caused by the competitors.
